Lot 83: A Chinese White Jade 'Auspicious Beast'
A Chinese jade carving of a white jade carving of a recumbent auspicious beast (瑞兽), possibly a mythical creature or a lion-dog, consistent with ‘Ba Jian’ (把件) type carvings. It is carved from a pale yellowish-white, semi-translucent nephrite jade, exhibiting a smooth polish and finely detailed features such as a bushy mane and tail.
