A cast bronze vessel sculpted in the form of a recumbent East Asian mythical creature, identified as a Qilin. The censer features a stylized dragon-like head with an open mouth, short horns, a scaled neck, and hooves. A removable lid, also decorated, is situated on the creature’s back. The surface displays extensive dark patination with coppery-red undertones and visible remnants of a faded gilt or lacquered finish.
