Lot 53: A Chinese Five-Spout Ceramic Vessel
A rounded ceramic vessel of Chinese origin, featuring a central narrow, flaring mouth surrounded by five equally-spaced, upright tubular extensions on the shoulder. The piece is covered in a thick, lustrous iron-brown glaze, exhibiting subtle variations in tone ranging from rich russet to darker, almost blackish-blue accents, particularly at the edges of the tubes and rim where the glaze thins. The unglazed footring reveals a light buff-colored body, consistent with stoneware or earthenware.
