Lot 27: A Pair of Chinese Iron-Red Decorated 'Dragon' Porcelain Cups, Da Qing Qianlong Nian Zhi Mark
A pair of Chinese iron-red decorated ‘dragon’ porcelain cups, each bearing a six-character underglaze blue mark ‘大清乾隆年製’ (Dà Qīng Qiánlóng Nián Zhì) to the base, signifying ‘Made during the Qianlong reign of the Great Qing dynasty’, and of the period. Each cup is crafted from white glazed porcelain, featuring an iron-red enamel stylized dragon depicted against a plain white ground. Below the dragon, a band of wave-like motifs encircles the lower body. A fine red line accents the rim of each cup.
