A pair of Ottoman Turkish calligrapher’s scissors, made from iron or steel, exhibiting an ornate Eastern aesthetic. One pair features extensive gold-colored metal inlay or overlay with intricate foliate scrollwork on its handle, consistent with damascening techniques. The second pair has decorative brass or gilt openwork handles.

Condition report:
Both items display significant signs of age and use, including heavy surface oxidation, pitting, and discoloration on the steel components. The blades are worn. The decorative elements appear largely intact but dulled, consistent with their apparent antique status.
