Lot 226: A Chinese Jun Kiln Porcelain Bowl with Iron Red and Gilt Accents, Possibly Song Dynasty
A Chinese Jun Kiln porcelain bowl of shallow, footed form, featuring a pale olive-green or celadon-like glaze with a prominent, dense ‘ice crackle’ pattern across its interior and exterior surfaces. The interior is further adorned with irregular, organic splashes of a dark reddish-brown pigment, possibly iron oxide, alongside areas of gold that appear to highlight or fill segments of the crackle network, suggestive of kintsugi-style repair or decorative enhancement. The base reveals an unglazed reddish-brown foot ring.
H: Approximately 9.6cm
D: Approximately 23cm
Condition report:
Stable condition. The prominent \'ice crackle\' and gold accents are inherent to the design and appear to be stable. No visible chips, cracks, or significant losses to the glaze or body. Minor surface wear consistent with age and handling.
