Lot 185: An Indian Miniature Painting, Northern Indian School, Depicting Shri Ramdev, 19th Century

An Indian miniature painting, Northern Indian School, 19th Century, on paper, depicting the central figure of Shri Ramdev in a meditative pose, adorned with multiple necklaces, seated on a white mat. He is flanked by two smaller male attendant figures, also seated. The scene is set in a green landscape with golden floral motifs, layered green ground lines, and a blue sky band. An elaborate red border with gold foliate designs and dark blue floral motifs frames the image. In the upper blue band, text in Devanagari script reads "श्री रामदेव ॥३॥", identifying the central figure.
