A Chinese underglaze copper-red decorated ‘phoenix’ yaoling zun, also known as a mallet vase, Kangxi marked. The porcelain bottle vase features a globular body rising to a tall, slender cylindrical neck, resting on an unglazed foot rim. It is decorated with a stylized mythical bird, likely a phoenix, amidst flame or cloud motifs, rendered in vibrant underglaze copper-red against a pristine white ground. The base bears a four-character underglaze blue mark, ‘大清康熙年製’ (Da Qing Kangxi Nian Zhi), indicating ‘Made in the Kangxi Period of the Great Qing Dynasty’.
