A spherical brass or bronze vessel, identified as a Kashkul, dating to the 19th Century Qajar period in Persia. The item is extensively decorated in an Islamic style with deeply incised patterns. A band of calligraphic Arabic script, translating to "Perpetual glory and increasing prosperity" (العز الدائم والاقبال الزائد), encircles the neck. Below this, the body features intricate arabesque motifs and a series of large circular medallions containing stylized zoomorphic figures like birds or mythical creatures, set amidst dense foliate scrollwork. The vessel is fitted with two ornate loop handles.
