An Indian Mughal miniature painting, executed in watercolor and gold pigment on paper, depicting Emperor Shah Jahan. The regal male figure is shown in profile, adorned in an elaborate green and gold patterned garment, a jeweled turban, and a golden halo. He holds a staff-like object and a white plume, standing on a tiled terrace against a landscape with a red and pale blue sky. The painting is enclosed by a painted gold border. The reverse of the paper is discolored and bears a faint pencil inscription ‘037’ near the top edge.

Condition report:

Fair to good condition. Colors remain vibrant. Visible surface wear, minor discoloration, and creasing consistent with age. Paper edges are irregular with some tearing, notably to the right side.
