Lot 140: A Chinese Black-Ground Green-Enamelled 'Phoenix and Peony' Dish, Kangxi Mark
A black-ground green-enamelled dish, bearing a six-character underglaze blue Kangxi reign mark. The circular porcelain dish is decorated on the obverse with vibrant green enamel on a dark (likely black) ground, depicting an intricate design of flowering plants, primarily peonies, and a bird (possibly a phoenix) amidst dense foliage, all within a thin white rim. The reverse features a plain white glazed surface with an unglazed footrim, centering the blue underglaze six-character reign mark which translates to ‘大清康熙年製’ (Made in the Kangxi reign of the Great Qing Dynasty).
