Lot 134: A Set of Indian Glass Pachisi Game Pieces, 19th Century
A set of fifteen Indian Pachisi game pieces. Each small, dome-shaped object exhibits a segmented or fluted exterior, finished in gilt. The flat undersides are uniformly treated with a dark, glossy, possibly lacquered coating. Stylistically, the pieces present an organic form, suggestive of melons or stylized flower buds.
Condition report:
Significant age and wear. Extensive loss to the gilt finish, revealing the darker substrate beneath. Tarnish and various surface abrasions are present, consistent with age and use.
