Lot 104: A Mughal Rock Crystal Horse Head Dagger Handle, 18th/19th Century
A Mughal rock crystal dagger handle, likely for a Pesh Kabz. The ornate hilt is carved from clear rock crystal, featuring a gracefully curved neck culminating in a finely detailed horse head. The horse’s eyes are set with small red cabochon gemstones, and its mane is naturalistically carved. The lower hilt is adorned with an intricate floral motif comprising numerous red and green cabochon gemstones, set in gold-colored metal as scrolling tendrils. A plain gold-colored band is also present above this decoration.

Condition report:
Very good condition. No visible chips or cracks to the rock crystal. All gem settings appear intact. Minor surface wear consistent with age and handling.
