A Chinese blue and white porcelain ewer, executed in the Ming style and bearing a six-character horizontal Xuande mark. The ewer features a globular body, a cylindrical neck, and a curved handle stylized as a dragon or mythical beast, with its head resting on the rim. It is decorated in underglaze cobalt blue on a white ground, featuring continuous floral scrolls across the body, a band of stylized waves or ruyi-heads on the neck, a classic scroll at the shoulder, and lotus panel motifs around the foot. A six-character horizontal mark, 大明宣德年制 (Dà Míng Xuāndé Nián Zhì), meaning "Made in the Xuande reign of the Great Ming dynasty, " is visible on the shoulder.
